Its’ history dates back to the 17th century. BREED PROFILE: It is generally accepted that the modern Thoroughbred stems from the Byerley Turk, the Darley, and the Godolphin Arabian stallions. They were Imported from the Middle East to improve England’s racing stock Between them they established the three bloodlines of Herod, Eclipse, and Matchem. Initially bred for racing the Thoroughbred excels at many other equestrian disciplines. The Thoroughbred is sometimes referred to as the “King” of the horse world for its incredible ability as a performance horse. It has been used to improve many other breeds. CHARACTERISTICS: Courageous, honest and bold. Also beautiful and athletic, with an amazing determination and drive. Long clean limbs, elegant and muscular body. Built for toughness and stamina the Thoroughbred is the ultimate racing machine. |

Each piece is boxed in a really lovely black box and includes a black wood base. The horses are removable from bases for shipping or packing purposes. |
