#8410 Clydesdale - $90.00
Traditional size - 14" in length
by Kitty Cantrell & Caroline Boydston

ORIGINS: Scotland. Development of the breed began in the late 17th century by Scottish Dukes and farmers.

BREED PROFILE: The Clydesdale is known as a “cold blood” or draft type, (heavy) breed. Popular as a general farm horse and also used for hauling, the Clydesdale declined drastically with the introduction of motorized vehicles. Today they are highly valued in the show ring, used in harness horses and at special events where they often pull carriages. They can be found the world over, most notably in North America, Canada and Australia.

CHARACTERISTICS: Noble, charming and even-tempered. Clydesdales are quite impressive due to their presence and size. They are also among the most easily recognized of any of today’s modern draft breeds.
